A lady has been slammed by Twitter users after she said that she was ‘raised to take care’ of her significant other.
Single Brylea Kay, a student from Texas, took to social media recently where she shared the questionable tweet.
“Call me old fashioned, but i was raised to take care of my husband. make his plate every night, wash his work clothes for him, make sure he’s up for work the next morning, always have a clean house for him to come home to, etc. and that’s exactly wife i will be .”
Her tweet got more than 51k Likes worldwide and 16k plus responses. But the “feelings” in the tweet absolutely didn’t go down well, with some even calling the tweet “cringeworthy”.
One person said: This is most cringe worthy tweet I’ve seen in awhile. Put it right there with “I can’t wait to see my husband destroy our kids on a tube” and the ”I can’t wait to pregame with my husband in the parking lot at our daughters dance recital”
Another one said: I take care of my boyfriend since we live together, but I’m not trying to be his momma. We do all the chores together and we get up together. He’s a grown man. He knows I take care of him, but he knows he needs to take care of himself. If he works, I work. That’s how it is now.
A third one said: You laugh/cry, but I had a dude at work that told me and my (female) supervisor that if his wife wasn’t around, he couldn’t be expected to wake up on time to make it to work. We were like, “Um, no. That’s not the way it works.”
A fourth one added: I’ve been married 30 years. Marriage is a partnership, with give and take and mutual respect for each other, not one person catering to the other. Think about the model you’re setting for your daughters.
