A Subway staff worker who was recorded in a video showing she was fighting back with an armed robber says that she was suspended only days after because the video was shared on the internet and went viral.
Take a look at the video below first:
The individual from staff, Araceli Sotelo, was working alone at a Subway in Rockford, Illinois where a man with a covered face entered inside the food chain and started asking for cash.
According to daily mail: “He kind of just showed me his gun, and I was like freaking out like, ‘woah you can’t do that please leave’. [He said] ‘give me all the money’ and I said ‘I do not have any money, like, I do not have any money’. That is all I had and he was just like, ‘give me everything before I hurt you.”
As displayed in the recording, Sotelo is yelling ‘stop’ and ‘get out’ in endeavors to make the masked man leave the store. But, after he wouldn’t leave, that is when Sotelo claims that she needed to retaliate.
Sotelo then, at that point wrestles the man and is able to drop his pistol onto the floor. where the worker manages to get hold of the weapon. She then, at that point points the weapon at him and asked him to give back his purse, soon after hitting his head with the firearm.
But even after all this, she says that she lost her employment soon after the episode because the video was shared on the web.
The footage went viral on TikTok and was watched by more than 7 million people. Several people reacted to the video and gave their remarks:
