Read through the story to know more.
Katie was buying diapers at Walmart in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When she was told that she won’t be getting the discount she was expecting, she thought of leaving the store without making the purchase.
73-year-old Carol Flynn was observing this, and when she saw Katie feeling dejected, she offered to pay for the diapers. Katie thought $120 bill was too much to take from her so she refused initially. However, Carol insisted and expressed her wish to pay for the diapers.
Jason Yoshing, a customer standing in line captured the scene on his phone. He posted the recording on Facebook which went viral. “You don’t see something like that every day in life. I’ll never forget it, to be
honest with you,” said Jason according to USA today.
Katie was overwhelmed after being at the receiver end of the unbelievably kind gesture.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked,” Katie said. “I kept saying thank you and God bless you…Then I walked out in the parking lot and started crying. It just hit me. It was an awesome statement of what God’s love does.”
Walmart acknowledged Carol for her kindness. The diaper company sent four packs of diapers to Katie and her husband.
Carol had paid on one condition: that Katie pay the kindness forward. “I just think we should do things like that. That’s kind of my thinking,” she told to Argus Leader.
