A man who was blinded by a brutal assault when his ex poured sulphuric acid (H2SO4) over him says he experiences a sleeping disorder and has nightmares a long time on.
Daniel Rotariu, 35, was resting when Katie Leong tossed the acid on him in the bed they shared.
He had a contention with Leong, 52 around the time he went to sleep, prior to awakening to the unbearable pain.
As per Nottingham Post he said: “It was 10-20 seconds maybe, in that moment I believed that I am dreaming until the pain started to kick in. I said ‘what is happening?’ It was so painful. I felt it in my mouth, the taste – the acid had a strange taste.”
In no time, the sight in Daniel’s eye became “hazy” and he began to panic.
At that point when he jumped out of the bed and attempted to escape the room, his other eye quit working as well. Leong was captured by the police and later guilty of attempted murder for the debilitated assault. She was imprisoned forever, to serve at least 17 years.
Since the assault Daniel has discovered love again with his significant other Anna, who he wedded in Romania where he grew up.
The pair presently have a child, David, and live in Nottinghamshire.
He said: “The greatest day of my life was when David was conceived,”
But despite finding happiness, Daniel is as yet frequented by the horrendous assault. Recently, he has gone under the blade to place pigmentation in his scalp, which gives the impression of hair.
After the medical procedure, Anna said: “I am just so happy that he’s feeling much more confident with himself.”
She added Daniel used to wear a cap to conceal his appearance from others, however now he’s showered with praises.
